Lao Cai northern province to hold the
traditional horse racing 2012

In the next 9-10 June 2012, the open
traditional horse racing of Bac Ha 2012
will be organized in the stadium of Bac Ha town, Lao Cai province. This is the
competition hold by the department of sport, culture and tourism of Lao Cai.
There are 68 teams from the Sapa, Bac Ha, Si Ma Cai, Muong Khuong districts of Lao Cai province, and Xin
Man district of Ha Giang province.
This is the sixth year of the competition and
90% of the cost is from society. There are 25 units registered to sponsor for
the competition.
The traditional horse racing competition of
Bac Ha is not only the community sport but also the attraction of Lao Cai’s
tourism.
There will be a lot of activities in Bac Ha
culture market in the competition time such as the biggest pot of Thang Co (a
kind of horse meat) of Vietnam, expo opening to exhibit and introduce the
agriculture products and food festival. Some districts will join in the
activities of tourism spots and community culture and performance, etc.
